More woes with Warhammer Online's new weapons
Filed under: Fantasy, Bugs, Patches, PvP, Warhammer Online, News items

It's a highly-anticipated feature, but it's been causing more than a few headaches for Warhammer Online's developers. We're speaking, of course, about the RvR weapons that were one of the large features of patch 1.3.4 and have been proving rather awkward in implementation. The short version is that when prices were lowered in a recent live change, there was a bit of an unintended rush of progression, which the developers stepped in as quickly as possible to fix. The problem arose with the people who had been progressing legitimately and wound up finding themselves denied their weapons and the corresponding achievements.
The development team has posted a new item asking for players to petition the GMs in a specific fashion to resolve the issue, as well as giving some insight into what went wrong with the whole fix. In short, when they asked players to petition, they didn't ask for enough information the first time around. The statement includes an apology and an assurance that the matter will be quickly escalated for resolution. While it's been an unfortunate period of back and forth for Warhammer Online, hopefully the issue is finally resolved and players can begin enjoying their new battle-earned weaponry once again.

I desided to quite WAR about 3 months ago cause it was obvious that the game was going into maintenance mode. The few staff members left are obviusly over their head in even adding the simplest of content like this weapon fiasco goes to show. Every person with a sniff of talent has obviously jumped the boat or been sacked - and they are stuck with nubs and morons on minimal pay that know absolutly nothing about how to run a MMO game.
Its obvious WAR is over. Peace !!

While I woulden't put it in quite so strong of terms it certianly dose seem like the game is in maintenance mode.

He's right, you know.
I have a Wal-Mart $15 time card waiting to be used when I hear good news, but it looks like it isn't going to happen soon, if ever.

It's over? Again? Wasn't it dead like years before.. Oh, right.. It wasnt. It isn't.
It's obvious that this is hard to determine. I mean, I've heard these obvious remarks so often that obviously there is no way I could count. It's obvious that this kind of trolling is getting so old, like obviously last decade old. Obviously my joke is getting old too... So, it's obvious i need to stop... Like now. Obviously...

The original patch was just fine. No issues what so ever. But the cost of the weapons were extremely high. So by doing a quick fix they fumbled a little bit. At least they admitted wrong and not like other companies and say "working as intended" On the four servers that are left the game is really strong. But how long can a gaming company run off of 4 servers? I still play because I love the RVR and its always active.

Believe it or not, there are games that run on one server...

And those games are designed to run off one server and support 50,000+ connections at the same time. How many can War servers handle at once? 3,000?
So yeah, your comment is just full of failsauce.

They need to stop spending so much time on Scenarios. RvR needs some work. The group mechanisms are fine, but they need a better system of advertising existing groups. Many players leveling out of Tier 1 assume that Tier 2 is dead because there aren't 50 players camped outside of a War Camp. Tier 2 is very much alive, its just that hose 50 players are probably busy taking/defending a keep. Not to mention that WAR is the quietest game I've ever played. Players rarely communicate with each other, so it can be hard to tell if action is actually happening.
Start working on that instead of adding further incentive to players that wait in the warcamp for a scenario queue.
