Has had a lifelong fascination for pill-bugs, thereby explaining her penchant for wearing all black, and living in dark cool places. She also shows a marked tendency for being able to roll herself up into a very small ball, although is not so successful at rolling away when threatened.

When it comes to looking for new gaming ideas, there's no denying
Eskil Steenberg's procedurally-generated art-house MMO,
Love stands out. Now in beta, Eskil has been working hard at improving the game since the last time
we looked at it. Today, we have a gorgeous
One Shots from the beta to share with you. This came in with a report in from the front lines, courtesy of
GamingLove's iamacyborg, who writes:
This is a screenshot of a player settlement in Eskil Steenberg's game, Love, on the UK1 server. We had the base set up on top of a few pillars, over a lake, with a force-field (that pink ball) protecting the important tokens. Here's a video someone took of the settlement a little while after the screenshot was taken, once we'd set up a perimeter defence with some blaster turrets.
Are you playing something we haven't seen before - or only see rarely? If so, why not take a moment and send some screenshots in? Just mail them to us at
oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, the name of the game, and a quick description. We'll post it out here and give you the credit.

While several portions of
Allods Online bear some similarity to
World of Warcraft, there are places like this beautiful airship where they've clearly done their own thing art-wise. Today's great
Allods Online screenshot comes to us from regular Massively commenter Pedro (the
other Pedro) who tells us a bit more about this scenic view:
This is one the Astral ships of the League. Later in Allods every player will be able to have his own ship, navigate in the Astral (the space of the game) and participate in ship versus ship PvP. Should make for some interesting battles!
Are you in the
Allods Online beta? Would you like to share some great scenes we haven't seen as yet? If so, grab those screenshots, toss them in an email to
oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name and a quick description, then hit 'send.' Yep, it's that easy. We'll then take your screenshot and showcase it out here for everyone to enjoy.

Looking for a way to stock up on some
Runes of Magic diamonds, but a bit short on cash? Well, the folks at
Frogster Interactive have taken a page from things like
Facebook games, and are offering a method to trade a bit of your time for some diamonds.
Through their new partnership with Sponsorpay,
Runes of Magic players are able to take surveys and check out products and score a certain amount of free diamonds per offer. All you have to do is to log in to the
RoM site, go to the diamond purchase page, select your server, and then select the free diamonds option. From there, you'll be taken to a page that will offer several different surveys or trial offers you can check out. With that said, as with any 'lead generation for in game cash' scenario you run across on the Internet,
always make sure you read the fine print. The last thing players will want is those free diamonds hitting them in the wallet later because they didn't.

FunCom
While the January edition of the
Age of Conan Game Director letter isn't the flashiest one we've ever seen, it is an excellent road-map of just what the team over at
Funcom have in their sights for the next little while. They've been
giving us
tons of tasty
Rise of the Godslayer news outside of the Director updates, so we certainly won't complain!
This month,
Age of Conan's Game Director,
Craig Morrison, sits down to tell us just what the team has in mind for the future of Hyboria.
Patch 1.06 will be coming to the live servers shortly, bringing with it the Guild Renown system, tier three raiding, and a major revamp for the Assassin class. As for
Godslayer, he says that more players have been invited into the beta and the feedback has thus far been great. There's also a good chunk of information on what they're planning for long-term
PvP improvements for those who can't wait to bash Hyborian brains in. In all, it sounds like Craig and the team have some excellent things in motion for the future of
Age of Conan, so be sure to
pop over and check it out.

It's a hard life in
Fallen Earth. If those
mutated prairie chicken packs don't get you, there's probably some psychopathic NPC just ready to blow your head off and make off with any chips you might have had in your pocket. That is, of course, assuming they don't make off with whatever piece of clothing your pockets were in! It's a gritty world, but there are still places you can pause and catch your breath, like the one we see in today's
One Shots, sent in to us by Michael B. He writes:
[This is] my character, Cole Ryder, atop the satellite dish outside of Trumbull. I'm moments away from destroying the utility box at the base of the complex to disrupt the Enforcers plans in the area. Cole [was] level 16 [at the time this was taken]. I'm enjoying this game more than any MMORPG I've played in a long time.
With the weekend rolling, it's a great time to get your MMO on! While you're out, grab a screenshot or two for us? We love to see what players are doing. Just email them in to us at
oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, the name of the game, and a description of what we're seeing. We'll post them out here and give you the credit. Easy!

Threshold of Power, the newest addition to
Nexon's
Dungeon Fighter Online has been released. This game update gives players a wealth of new areas to check out, and raises the game's level cap to 50. Of course, no fighting-style game would be complete without a variety of new moves, either. Add to that the
2x experience and item drops going on this weekend, and you can see why now is a good time to check out
Dungeon Fighter Online if you're at all intrigued by the idea of an MMO based on old-school arcade fighting games.
Thankfully, Nexon has sent out a video that shows off all the shiny new attacks off for those of us who
aren't level 50. With moves as varied as giant energy dragons, on down to a very funny attack called 'Neil, the Sniper,' the video we've embedded for you behind the break is chock full of funky
Dungeon Fighter Online craziness. We've also managed to make off with a bunch of screenshots showcasing the new areas and attacks from
Threshold of Power, so be sure to check it out!

Turbine
Let's face it. In these harder economic times, there are a lot of people cutting back on subscriptions. Folks that may have carried multiple MMOs are now choosing more carefully. Those who probably wouldn't have taken a look at a free-to-play game before are now at least reading up on them in case anything they might like shows up. Companies like
Turbine,
EA/
Mythic and others are starting to look towards models that turn the old "14-days to try it, then either buy it or sod off" on their ears.
Our question this morning is what game (or games) do you think need a F2P overhaul? Would you use something like what Turbine has done with
Dungeons & Dragons Online, offering free play and an item mall that sells adventure packs? Do you think the
Warhammer Online unlimited trial/velvet-rope model is better? Grab your morning caffeine and let your thoughts flow in the comments below!

LotRO
Turbine
After a
Welcome Back weekend that brought players back to Middle-earth, and the
announcement for Book III, lots of people are excited about what
Turbine has planned in
Lord of the Rings Online. We here at Massively are always glad to see One Shots from the game too, because it's just so darned beautiful to look at!
Today's beautiful vista was sent in by Aaron W. a little while back, but the timelessness of the image makes it just the thing for today. He writes in: This is a screenshot from LOTRO's Lake Evendim, in the Evendim zone. After resubbing to
Lord of the Rings Online after playing that other big MMO, it's views like this that make me see what a lot of MMOs today are missing out on -- a truly in depth world that is waiting to be explored. This is my Guardian, Stalrond, overlooking the lake after making the long journey to the far side of the zone, near the Even Rills.
While you're gaming this weekend, why not take a screenshot or two for us. Email them to us at
oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, the name of the game, and a quick description. We'll show them to the world and give you the credit for sending them along to us. Happy weekend!

FunCom
The team at
Funcom are hard at work on the new content coming to
Age of Conan, like guild renown and raids, as well as the upcoming expansion
Rise of the Godslayer. Thankfully, they managed to steal a few moments out of that time to send along some screenshots, concept art, and a great video of the exotic Northern Grasslands area that players will be adventuring through in the upcoming expansion.
Players who pick up
Rise of the Godslayer will be treated to beautiful yet dangerous locales, where they'll meet strange and fascinating new people, and then kill them. Just kidding! Well, not really.
Mounted atop tigers, the Khitans will undoubtedly be a fierce fighting force -- and that shiny new armor certainly looks pretty cool too. (Thankfully, the red accents will hide the blood well when you strip it off your dead enemies.) Be sure to check out the gallery and the teaser video behind the break for all the latest from this future corner of Hyboria.

While those of us in North America have been able to enjoy
Mabinogi for some time, our fellow gamers in Europe haven't had the chance to check it out. That is, until
now.
Nexon Europe have just opened up the beta for
Mabinogi in Europe, so anyone who has been curious about this fun little world can now check it out.
To add to all the launch fun, the
Nexon Europe team have put together a video featuring lots of in-game footage from the world of
Mabinogi. Between the recently revamped starter areas, job systems, real-time combat, and fun things like the composing/performance skill, it's worth a look if you like free-to-play games. Check out the trailer after the break, or pop by the
Mabinogi site to
sign up for open beta.
