John Walker over at <a href="http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2009/07/02/global-agenda-gets-trailer-happy/">Rock, Paper, Shotgun</a> hunted down and rounded up the new videos from <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com">Gametrailers</a>, which give us a good look at how the game is shaping up. The first video shows off the <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/52239.html">character creation process</a>, with a cut scene explaining your introduction to the world, trapped and floating in a cloning tank monitored by machines, then rescued by armored human allies. That's followed up by footage of other character creation options in <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/global-agenda"><span style="font-style: italic;">Global Agenda</span></a>, from the look of your agent's body to <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/52225.html">armor customization</a>, as well as showing how <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/52221.html">large and open the game's social hubs will be</a>. <br /><br />Even better, there are two more videos that show off <span style="font-style: italic;">Global Agenda</span>'s combat, demonstrating both co-op gameplay and PvP. We've got video embeds of the combat footage after the jump:<p><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/07/02/new-global-agenda-gameplay-vids-show-off-customization-and-pvp/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>New Global Agenda gameplay vids show off customization and PvP</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.massively.com"><img src="http://www.massively.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/07/02/new-global-agenda-gameplay-vids-show-off-customization-and-pvp/">New Global Agenda gameplay vids show off customization and PvP</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.massively.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 02 Jul 2009 15:00:00 EST. We've since <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/gaikai">mentioned Gaikai a few times at Massively</a>, and how the service could bring MMOs (and other games) to devices like netbooks that don't have adequate graphics capabilities to run these titles. Gaikai will use "<a href="http://www.gaikai.com/streaming-worlds/">Streaming Worlds</a>" technology to do all the graphics crunching on remote servers and then stream games to your computer via a web browser. In effect, you're playing the game as a video stream. No client install required, no patching needed. <br /><br />Given the reactions we've seen from gamers in our own comments and elsewhere on the web, skepticism abounds. Perhaps seeing is believing though, as Gaikai's <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/david-perry">David Perry</a> has put out a <a href="http://vimeo.com/5404358">video demo of the service</a> today, explaining Gaikai to viewers as he plays several games, namely <a href="http://www.worldofwarcraft.com"><em>World of Warcraft</em></a> and <a href="http://www.eveonline.com"><em>EVE Online</em></a>. No doubt there will still be skepticism, but it's good to get a first look at the service. Perry makes a few details about the demo and the service itself clear <a href="http://www.dperry.com/archives/news/dp_blog/gaikai_-_video/">on his blog</a>: the data travel distance in the demo is 800 miles; this is a (non-fiber) home cable connection; it works over wi-fi and with netbooks lacking 3D graphics cards; any clicking sounds heard are only from Perry's wireless headset mic.<br /><br />We've got a video embed of the Gaikai technology demo for you below, where you can see <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/world-of-warcraft"><em>World of Warcraft</em></a> and <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE Online</em></a> played via a browser:<p><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/07/01/first-gaikai-demo-shows-wow-and-eve-played-via-browser/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>First Gaikai demo shows WoW and EVE played via browser</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.massively.com"><img src="http://www.massively.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/07/01/first-gaikai-demo-shows-wow-and-eve-played-via-browser/">First Gaikai demo shows WoW and EVE played via browser</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.massively.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 01 Jul 2009 17:00:00 EST. They released Update 5, "<em>Gangs of Tarantia</em>", which has introduced new zones and content, but more than that, completely reworked some of <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/age-of-conan"><em>Age of Conan</em></a>'s existing game mechanics. The amount of written content that Funcom has put together on these changes is substantial -- in fact we linked to all of it in <a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/24/age-of-conans-update-5-goes-live-game-director-hints-at-future/">our post on Update 5 earlier this week</a>. Funcom can write all they want about the new changes to the game, but when it comes down to it, actually seeing these places they've described may have a stronger impact. With that in mind, Funcom released a video tour of the Tarantia Commons zone today, narrated by game director <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/craig-morrison">Craig Morrison</a>.<br /><br />Tarantia Commons is what he describes as <em>"the urban underbelly"</em> of the capital city of Tarantia, a place Morrison says is <em>"wracked by gang warfare and civil unrest."</em> In other words, there's always a lot going on in Tarantia Commons and the video walkthrough shows this, revealing how players will choose which side to take in riots -- either aid the city guards or stick it to the man with fellow rioters. The riots then trigger other events. Specific quests become available and certain bosses spawn, depending upon the general state of chaos in the streets of Tarantia Commons. <br /><br />There are two warring gangs in the new gameplay area, The Wharf Rats who exist at ground level in the streets of Tarantia Commons, and The Crows whose area of influence shows off a different aspect of the game: <em>rooftops</em>. Interacting with The Crows above Tarantia Commons gives a different perspective on the city, with some impressive views of the zone. Of course there's content on the outskirts of Tarantia Commons for players to experience as well, including a leper colony where NPCs will lash out at you, intentionally trying to infect you with disease. As an added bonus, or spoiler depending upon your point of view, the walkthrough also shows off a boss encounter and the tactics he'll employ against players. <br /><br />If you're on the fence about returning to <em>Age of Conan</em> to see the new content, this Tarantia Commons walkthrough <em>might</em> just be the tipping point. We've got a video embed for you after the jump:<p><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/26/age-of-conan-video-walks-players-through-new-tarantia-commons-zo/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Age of Conan video walks players through new Tarantia Commons zone</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.massively.com"><img src="http://www.massively.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/26/age-of-conan-video-walks-players-through-new-tarantia-commons-zo/">Age of Conan video walks players through new Tarantia Commons zone</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.massively.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 26 Jun 2009 18:30:00 EST. (At least if our traffic related to <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic"><em>The Old Republic</em></a> is any indication.) While the <a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/04/e3-2009-star-wars-the-old-republic-demonstration/">E3 2009 trailer was <em>absolutely stunning</em></a> the real question is, what will the actual game look like? An <a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/24/behind-the-scenes-with-that-swtor-cinematic-trailer/">impressive trailer</a> means very little if a game doesn't meet expectations. <br /><br />We've seen bits and pieces of <span style="font-style: italic;">SWTOR</span> gameplay over the past few months, but the guys over at <a href="http://www.wanderinggoblin.com/2009/06/24/the-old-republic-gameplay-video/">Wandering Goblin</a> came across a compilation of pretty much <em>all</em> of the released in-game footage to date. A fan named "<a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/user-movie/the-old-republic-gameplay/321362">xxHIMxx</a>" compiled it all, and is definitely worth a look for anyone interested in the game, showing off some of the scenery and combat mechanics to be found in <span style="font-style: italic;">Star Wars: The Old Republic</span>. There might be another week until the next stage of the <a href="http://massively.com/tag/aion"><em>Aion</em></a> <a href="http://massively.com/tag/aion-beta">beta</a> but <a href="http://massively.com/tag/ncsoft">NCsoft</a> are ramping up the excitement surrounding their next big MMO. Well look at this, a new <a href="http://www.champions-online.com" style="font-style: italic;">Champions Online</a> trailer <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-lairs-champions-online/51863">has been released unto Gametrailers</a> and thus, the world. It opens with an interesting winged angel superhero soaring into an intelligence meeting, but don't be fooled, this trailer's focus is solely on villainous lairs. Some of you would probably be more than happy with a video showcasing all the various wings and how they animate in flight (we spotted some Egyptian style wings in the trailer) but that's not happening today. Maybe there's a wings/flight video in the works, for all we know.<br /><br />There's some slightly cheesy voice acting and we're almost certain the narrator is attempting <a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/05/e3-2009-bill-roper-on-character-themes-and-customization-in-cha/">a commanding voice in the spirit of Optimus Prime</a>, but the trailer is very enjoyable for what it is: campy superhero goodness. It may not be everyone's preference, but we're digging what we see and can't wait to raid some lairs come this September.<br /><br />Witness the full trailer embedded after the break.<p><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/25/delve-into-champions-onlines-evil-lairs-trailer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Delve into Champions Online's evil lairs trailer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.massively.com"><img src="http://www.massively.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/25/delve-into-champions-onlines-evil-lairs-trailer/">Delve into Champions Online's evil lairs trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.massively.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 25 Jun 2009 11:00:00 EST. The people that made that possible are from <a href="http://www.blur.com/">Blur Studio</a>, specialists in CG animation for games, films, and commercials. The IGN video above features an interview with Derron Ross, an animation supervisor for the company. He explains that although you might not realize it in the final products, a ton of the highest quality game videos are from Blur -- as an example, one of the <a href="http://www.blur.com/warhammer_2.html#">early <em>Warhammer Online</em> trailers</a> that <a href="http://www.massively.com/2008/12/28/the-making-of-the-warhammer-online-cinematic/">a lot of you will have seen</a> is from them. Ross goes on to describe what it takes to create something with such dangerously high levels of awesomeness.<br /><br />If this little behind-the-scenes look at the <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic/"><em>SWTOR</em></a> trailer has you craving more CG goodness, <a href="http://www.blur.com/">Blur's website</a> has links to a ton of their other works for your viewing pleasure.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.massively.com"><img src="http://www.massively.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/24/behind-the-scenes-with-that-swtor-cinematic-trailer/">Behind the scenes with "that SWTOR cinematic trailer"</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.massively.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 24 Jun 2009 09:00:00 EST. Just a couple months ago a friend told me that <a href="http://aiononline.com"><em>Aion</em></a> was the biggest and baddest upcoming MMORPG that no-one in North America knew about. It <a href="http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/690949/Aion_Breaks_Korean_Beta_Test_Records.html">broke records</a> and <a href="http://www.koreaittimes.com/story/aion-gives-ncsoft-triple-crown">won awards</a> when it launched in Korea last year, yet hardly anyone over here was talking about it. Well, things can change quickly.<br /><br />As the September launch date approaches, <a href="http://ncsoft.net/global/">NCsoft</a> has been kicking <em>Aion</em> promotion into high gear. Their latest marketing effort is a four-part series of video podcasts hosted by <a href="http://pc.ign.com/">IGN</a>. The <a href="http://pc.ign.com/articles/996/996285p1.html">first part</a> came out on Friday and serves as a crash course on the lore behind <a href="http://www.aionsource.com/wiki/Aion_(god)">Aion</a>, <a href="http://www.aionsource.com/wiki/Atreia">Atreia</a>, and the three main factions called the <a href="http://www.aionsource.com/wiki/Asmodians">Asmodians</a>, <a href="http://www.aionsource.com/wiki/Elyos">Elyos</a>, and <a href="http://www.aionsource.com/wiki/Balaur">Balaur</a> (the NPC dragon race that sets up the PvPvE system).<br /><br /><a href="http://pc.ign.com/dor/objects/822535/aion/videos/aion_trl_devdiary_61809.html">The video</a> really gives you a good look at <em>Aion</em>'s very own fourth pillar (sorry <a href="http://www.bioware.com/">BioWare</a>, you might have some competition here) and is full of stunning in-game footage, cinematics, and staff interviews. Closed beta is currently in full swing and <a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/20/hands-on-with-the-aion-beta-your-first-steps-in-asmodae/">we're keeping tabs on it for you</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.massively.com"><img src="http://www.massively.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/22/aions-first-video-podcast-is-packing-lore-and-stunning-visuals/">Aion's first video podcast is packing lore and stunning visuals</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.massively.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 22 Jun 2009 11:00:00 EST. Massively <a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/07/e3-2009-apb-lead-designer-ej-moreland-on-player-customization/">interviewed APB lead designer EJ Moreland</a> who gave us some perspective on what the title will be like, but we're always looking out for more info. On that note, the <em>All Points Bulletin</em> game site revamp was accompanied by a new series of video podcasts, the second of which is now out. <br /><br />This <a href="http://www.apb.com/2009/06/15/apb-podcast-episode-2-e3-and-beyond/">second <em>All Points Bulletin</em> video podcast</a> "E3 and Beyond" has Chris "Deum" Collins from the <em>APB</em> community team speaking with lead gameplay designer Jesse Knapp about the game's extensive customization options, and is in two parts. Actually it's largely a montage of the E3 customization videos with commentary from the <em>APB</em> devs, where they answer questions posed to them by the game's fans. It's a great look at what's possible in the game and we highly recommend you give it a look. Throughout all of the countless MMOs that we've played, we've always asked ourselves one important question: "Where is <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mai_Shiranui">Mai Shiranui</a> and why can't I be her?"<br /><br />Today, fellow online gamers, is when that question is finally answered in four words: <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/king-of-fighters-online"><em>King of Fighters Online</em></a>.<br /><br />Yes, the <a href="http://www.kingoffighters12.com/">iconic fighting game</a> is making its way to the online stage in the form of a multiplayer brawler. Players will be able to take on not only one another, but also team up for cooperative missions and boss battles. While it's unclear if a "create a fighter" mode will be introduced, the full roster of <em>KoF</em> characters will be available to play. Furthermore, players will be able to jump from character to character during battle by "poofing" into the next character on their roster, much like the team switches from the offline games.<br /><br />Interested in seeing the game in a preliminary demo before it goes into service next year? Why then all you have to do is hit "continue reading" as we've cleverly embedded the first gameplay trailer after the break!<p><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/18/king-of-fighters-online-proves-you-can-kick-butt-in-short-skirts/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>King of Fighters Online proves you can kick butt in short skirts, literally</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.massively.com"><img src="http://www.massively.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/18/king-of-fighters-online-proves-you-can-kick-butt-in-short-skirts/">King of Fighters Online proves you can kick butt in short skirts, literally</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.massively.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 18 Jun 2009 16:00:00 EST. We don't doubt that many of our readers first got their feet wet in the world of MMOs with <a href="http://everquest.station.sony.com/"><em>EverQuest</em></a>, a game that gave rise to addictions so severe that it was often referred to as "EverCrack" by its loyal fans. It's these folks (this blogger amongst them) that will likely get the most enjoyment out of a new documentary called <em>EverCracked! The Phenomenom of EverQuest</em> that <a href="http://eqplayers.station.sony.com/news_article.vm?id=51506">is set to debut at SOE Fan Faire 2009</a> later this month.<br /><br />The documentary is hosted by Jason "Jace" Hall (of <a href="http://jacehall.tv/">the Jace Hall Show</a>) and features interviews not only with some of the main brains behind the game, but also with another very important group of people -- the players. We aren't sure yet when those who aren't visiting <a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/04/20/soe-fan-faire-2009-now-open-for-registration/">Fan Faire</a> will be able to see it, but for now, check after the break for a preview trailer.<p><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/11/evercracked-the-phenomenon-of-everquest-to-debut-at-soe-fan-f/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>"EverCracked! Ok, perhaps I'm sensationalizing just a bit, but since its release, <a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/08/global-agenda-trailer-puts-pansy-elves-in-their-place/">the No Elves! trailer</a> for <a href="http://globalagendagame.com"><em>Global Agenda</em></a> has generated quite a buzz. A recent newsletter announcement by <a href="http://www.hirezstudios.com/">Hi-Rez Studios</a> details how <a href="http://www.agentsvselves.com/">they plan to capitalize on it</a>.<br /><br />Those willing to show their support for the No Elves! movement can now buy <a href="http://www.globalagendagame.com/Shop.html">a few different t-shirts</a> from the Hi-Rez store, join a <a href="http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=98230&amp;id=92031301668&amp;ref=mf#/pages/Agents-vs-Elves/92031301668">Facebook group</a>, and download <a href="http://hirez.http.internapcdn.net/hirez/No_Elves_Media_Kit2.zip">a media kit</a> full of high quality videos and images. After launching the campaign initially, it appears Hi-Rez wants the community to take it over and spread the word. I believe the term is "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viral_marketing">viral marketing</a>?"<br /><br /><a href="http://forum.globalagendagame.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=135&amp;t=4864">According to one of the developers</a>, Hi-Rez first used the "No Elves" tagline on a staff recruitment banner 3 or 4 years ago. Another forum-goer pointed out <a href="http://www.no-more-elves.com/">a "No More Elves" promotion</a> developed by <a href="http://www.reakktor.com/">Reakktor</a> for <a href="http://ng.neocron.com/"><em>Neocron 2</em></a> in 2005. It seems there is an abundance of pointy-eared hate because a number of MMO bloggers formed a <a href="http://biobreak.wordpress.com/2009/04/17/the-no-elf-club/">No Elf Club</a> recently as well. Come on folks, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rodney_King#LA_riots_and_the_aftermath"><em>"can we all get along?"</em></a><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.massively.com"><img src="http://www.massively.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/11/mmo-racism-the-no-elves-movement-picks-up-steam/">MMO racism: the No Elves! movement picks up steam</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.massively.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 11 Jun 2009 11:00:00 EST. <div align="left"><a href="http://www.ijji.com">Ijji.com</a> sent us a whole slew of information about two of its upcoming titles to us today, and we figured that we should pass on the love. If you're looking forward to either <a href="http://huxley.ijji.com/"><em>Huxley: The Dystopia</em></a> or <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/sun"><span style="font-style: italic;">Soul of the Ultimate Nation</span></a>, you'll be happy to hear that we added <a href="http://www.massively.com/photos/huxley-the-dystopia/">10 new screenshots</a> of <a href="http://www.massively.com/photos/soul-of-the-ultimate-nation/">each to our galleries</a> today. <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/huxley"><span style="font-style: italic;">Huxley</span>'</a>s screenshots show a few more battle scenes, including the scoped in view on one of their guns, while <span style="font-style: italic;">SUN</span> has elected to show off some spectacular landscapes accompanied by some nice armors.<br /><br />If that wasn't enough, we also have two trailers, one featuring gameplay and the other a pre-rendered video, for <span style="font-style: italic;">Soul of the Ultimate Nation</span>, featuring the Shadow class, included in this post right after the break. The last time I personally saw anything about <em>Jumpgate Evolution</em> (Netdevil's re-imagining of the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumpgate:_The_Reconstruction_Initiative">the very early space MMO</a>) was almost two years ago when I spoke with the executive producer. At that time, we had little more than a few screenshots and concept art. Massively has <a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/03/16/massively-speaks-at-length-with-jumpgate-evolutions-hermann-pet/">spoken with Peterscheck</a> and <a href="http://www.massively.com/2008/09/02/pax08-hermann-peterscheck-interviewed-on-all-things-jumpgate-ev/">covered the game</a> <a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/05/16/netdevil-producer-hermann-peterscheck-on-jumpgate-evolutions-sh/">multiple times</a> since then, but when I stepped into Netdevil's little booth at E3 (so little, in fact, that it didn't even have their name on it -- it was labeled with <a href="http://www.gazillion.com/">Gazillion Entertainment</a>, their publisher), I didn't have any idea what to expect.<br /><br />What I found was both surprising and impressive. Way back in that first interview, Peterscheck told me that they were trying to make a space shooter MMO that depended on skill rather than stats, that offered up a fully realized universe for players to explore, and gave some new options for PvP and space combat that we hadn't seen before. Sitting in their booth watching the game get played on three big screens, I saw all that and more. Hit the jump (gate) below for impressions and even a gameplay video from last week's show.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.massively.com/photos/jumpgate-evolution-e3-2009/">Jumpgate Evolution E3 2009</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.massively.com/photos/jumpgate-evolution-e3-2009/2066467/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2009/06/view-of-new-soria-and-solrain-core-station_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/photos/jumpgate-evolution-e3-2009/2066466/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2009/06/solrain-fighter-in-solrain-space_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/photos/jumpgate-evolution-e3-2009/2066465/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2009/06/solrain-fighter-in-descent-battlespace_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/photos/jumpgate-evolution-e3-2009/2066464/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2009/06/ships-flying-in-iudeccan-reaches_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/photos/jumpgate-evolution-e3-2009/2066463/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2009/06/ravager-pirates-in-iudeccan-space_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/08/e3-2009-the-evolution-of-jumpgate-evolution/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>E3 2009: The evolution of Jumpgate Evolution</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.massively.com"><img src="http://www.massively.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/08/e3-2009-the-evolution-of-jumpgate-evolution/">E3 2009: The evolution of Jumpgate Evolution</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.massively.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 08 Jun 2009 12:00:00 EST. We just <a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/03/e3-2009-global-agenda-hands-on-with-executive-producer-todd-har/#comments">had a look at some of the gameplay</a> from <a href="http://www.globalagendagame.com"><em>Global Agenda</em></a> at <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/e3-2009/">E3</a>, but the latest trailer from Hi-Rez studios is a bit different. It's a more humorous look at the sort of characters that will be found in-game, or rather, the sorts that <em>won't</em>. Walking around in a flowing robe and attempting to fling fireballs won't get you very far in <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/global-agenda"><em>Global Agenda</em></a>, as the trailer points out so clearly -- a Recon character makes short work of an elf trying to fill his cast-bar to attack, proving that technology is the key to victory in this particular world, and that other elves hoping to join the game's cast need not apply. Hit the jump to check out the full trailer.<p><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/08/global-agenda-trailer-puts-pansy-elves-in-their-place/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Global Agenda trailer puts pansy elves in their place</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.massively.com"><img src="http://www.massively.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/08/global-agenda-trailer-puts-pansy-elves-in-their-place/">Global Agenda trailer puts pansy elves in their place</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.massively.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 08 Jun 2009 10:30:00 EST. At E3 this entire week, <a href="http://www.ea.com">EA</a> is promoting their biggest and brightest new titles at their enormous booth in the LA Convention Center's South Hall. This includes two titles we're excited about: <a href="http://www.swtor.com"><em>SWTOR</em></a> and <a href="http://www.apb.com"><em>APB</em></a>. To help promote <em>APB</em> yesterday, EA's Paul Barnett got the crowd hyped up for the game with some free t-shirts and a couple Suicide Girls to help toss them out to the audience.<br /><br />On top of this, <em>APB</em>'s Dave Jones was interviewed by Paul on the stage, and two short trailers were shown. The first one was basically what we saw last year, showcasing the amazing character customization options available in the MMO. Yet, we were also shown some in-game footage with characters created by the <em>APB</em> testing community basically, the new trailer <a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/01/e3-2009-ea-and-realtime-worlds-partner-on-all-points-bulletin/">we showed you earlier in the week</a>). You can check out our shaky-cam footage of the event right after the jump below.<p><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/04/e3-2009-apb-gets-the-paul-barnett-hype-treatment/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>E3 2009: APB gets the Paul Barnett hype treatment</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.massively.com"><img src="http://www.massively.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/04/e3-2009-apb-gets-the-paul-barnett-hype-treatment/">E3 2009: APB gets the Paul Barnett hype treatment</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.massively.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 04 Jun 2009 12:00:00 EST. While it's technically the first day for most attendees, we've actually been here since Sunday, preparing for the big event. Yet, yesterday marked the first time the show floor was opened and we all got a look at <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/e3-2009">the new E3</a>.<br /><br />After last year's disappointing showing, the organizers more than made up for it with what is arguably the largest collection of shinies we've seen at any conference in recent years. To pay respect for E3 going back to the way it was, we've compiled this short video of what we saw on Day 1. There's some shaky-cam footage of the show floor, some great MMO screens including never-before-seen shots of <em>Torchlight</em> and <em>DCUO</em>, and of course, an <em>EverQuest </em>booth babe. You can check it out right after the jump, and be sure to look for another compilation video once the convention is over, featuring our favorite moments.<hr />

Last night at SOE's gigantic E3 booth, attendees were actually a part of history. <a href="http://www.thedares.com/">The Dares</a> -- that youthful pop-punk band that sings the light-heartedly rebellious theme song for <a href="http://www.freerealms.com"><em>Free Realms</em></a> -- performed a small set for a live concert audience at E3 and simultaneously in the game. According to the <a href="http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/records/sports_and_games/">Guinness Book of World Records</a>, who awarded the bandmates a plaque after the concert, this is the first time this has been done. Yeah, sorry Second Life fans.<br /><br />If you're interested in seeing the live performance of "It's Your World", and thereby getting it stuck in your head for the next three weeks, check it out after the jump below. There's also a separate video showing the Guinness World Record reception, as well. Congrats goes out to those guys, although I'm pretty sure they'll never read this.<br /><p><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/03/e3-2009-free-realms-and-the-dares-set-world-record-concert-even/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>E3 2009: Free Realms and The Dares set world record concert event</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.massively.com"><img src="http://www.massively.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/06/03/e3-2009-free-realms-and-the-dares-set-world-record-concert-even/">E3 2009: Free Realms and The Dares set world record concert event</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.massively.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 03 Jun 2009 13:00:00 EST. As part of our extensive E3 tour through SOE's newest games, launched and upcoming, we got a fairly good look at some gameplay footage in <em><a href="http://theagency.station.sony.com/verification.vm">The Agency</a></em>. Of course, you know <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/the-agency"><em>The Agency</em></a> as the spy MMO that had everyone talking at <a href="http://www.massively.com/2008/07/27/e308-walking-through-the-agencys-trailer/">last year's E3</a>. With this new gameplay footage, you lucky readers (or, viewers) get to see what to expect <a href="http://www.massively.com/2009/03/25/dc-universe-online-and-the-agency-get-a-2010-release-date/">when the game launches</a>.<br /><br />Click through after the jump to see the game's lead producer, Lorien Gremore, show us around a bit with combat, stealth, minigames and even a bit of female persuasion tactics*.<br /><br />* Not from Lorien<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.massively.com/photos/e3-2009-the-agency/">E3 2009: The Agency</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.massively.com/photos/e3-2009-the-agency/2054874/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2009/06/115_soe-e3_1024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/photos/e3-2009-the-agency/2054892/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2009/06/118_soe-e3_1024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/photos/e3-2009-the-agency/2054875/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2009/06/119_soe-e3_1024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/photos/e3-2009-the-agency/2054893/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2009/06/120_soe-e3_1024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.massively.com/photos/e3-2009-the-agency/2054879/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2009/06/121_soe-e3_1024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div> <hr />
