Littered thoughout certain areas of lowsec, you'll find complexes inhabited by navy forces. These are capture points for faction warfare, used by rival militias to take star systems from each other.

Pirates sometimes take advantage of the ship size restrictions in these areas to catch ships of the same size as them to fight.
