The corporate-dominated Caldari State was once a part of the Gallente Federation, but their nationalist ideals clashed with Gallente liberalism. The Caldari valued military might, and eventually brought the full force of their strength against the Gallente. Despite the atrocities and victories seen on both sides of the conflict, neither side achieved their ultimate aims and an uneasy peace took hold. The passage of time did not seal the rift between the Caldari and Gallente peoples, and tensions on both sides have remained.
