A balance of power between the races had been maintained for centuries, but the Amarr's crusade drove them to overstep their boundaries. While the four younger races did nothing to prevent the rise of the Amarrian Reclaiming, either out of indifference or lack of strength, the Jovians put a stop to the Amarrian expansion. In one single engagement, at the battle of Vak'Atioh, the Jovians decimated an Amarrian fleet of 200 warships, punishing the upstarts for their arrogance.

The obliteration of the Amarr fleet sent shock waves throughout New Eden's society. The Minmatar people seized the opportunity to attempt an overthrow of their slave masters. Some were successful, many were not. The Amarr were weakened but far from defeated.
The Minmatars remain a subjugated race. Tensions continue to build between the Gallente Federation and Caldari State. This is the paradigm as New Eden enters its current Empyrean Age.
