Archmages are one of the classes we feel got the biggest shaft in terms of being wedged into the class mechanics of an MMO. Archmages are supposed to be among the most powerful spell-casters in the game, capable of frustrating enemies with their considerable dispel dice and versatile offensive abilities. Moreover, Archmages are extremely rare, only surfacing from their ivory towers in times of great need. The thought of having thousands of Archmages running around tossing up heals is a bit unsavory to those who own a High Elf band (like this blogger), but sacrifices have to be made, we suppose.
