One Shots: Hanging with the boss

Filed under: World of Warcraft, Fantasy, Screenshots, One Shots

While our sister site, WoW.com, gets the lion's share of World of Warcraft screenshots for their daily Around Azeroth column, we do still get the occasional screenshot from a player -- albeit few and far between! Today's overlook screenshot comes to us from occasional contributor Deadend from the Exodar server, who writes in: Here is Mimiron's joint. Mimiron is, from a game play standpoint, probably one of my all time favorite bosses in WoW.

If you're one of the millions of players who have played World of Warcraft and would like to send in a screenshot, we'd welcome your contribution. All you need to do is email a screenshot to us at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, and a quick description of what's WoWing you in the screenshot. Please make sure your image is at least 1024 pixels wide and has as little visible UI as possible. Yours may be next!

One Shots: Crazy train

Filed under: World of Warcraft, Fantasy, Screenshots, One Shots

As time winds down before the reset coming in Cataclysm, many World of Warcraft players are working their way through all the raid content, including Ulduar. For those who have never wandered into this particular dungeon, we have this great World of Warcraft screenshot from Deadend on the Exodar server. This is the bullet train that takes adventurers to face the insane tinkerer, Mimiron. Deadend writes in to give us his thoughts on this shiny transport: Best train ever.

From big to small, we want your MMO screenshots and stories! If you'd like to send something in, it's really easy. All you have to do is email your screenshot to oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, the name of the game, and a quick description. We'll post it out here for everyone to enjoy and give you the credit.

One Shots: Careful where you step

Filed under: World of Warcraft, Fantasy, Screenshots, One Shots

In just a little over three days, the continent of Northrend will open up for excited World of Warcraft players, with new races, new monsters, and new places to go. One such place is the new instance, Utgarde Keep, which contains content for 70's and 80's. Of course, the only real problem for newcomers to this frozen land is getting there without getting chewed up and spit out first. Today's friendly One Shots reminder of that comes to us courtesy of Deadend, who snapped this picture of a Storm Giant and a bunch of Shoveltusks that will be waiting to gang up on characters. Lasciate ogni speranza, voi ch'entrate for those who think they'll charge straight to Utgarde without any fighting at all. (Unless, of course, your server is insanely heavily populated, everyone's destroyed everything in the zone by the time you've logged in and your option is standing around waiting on repops.)

We know there have to be some people out there who were in the Wrath beta, so we're sending out a call to you today! You've got screenshots, and we want them. Bundle those up and email them to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name and a quick description. After all, once the game releases, those beta shots will be just like everyone else's -- send them while they're still fairly unique!

One Shots: The aurora of Northrend

Filed under: World of Warcraft, Fantasy, Screenshots, One Shots

The frozen expanse of World of Warcraft's new area Northrend will be open to us in a matter of days. Swarms of players who have not seen this strange land first-hand will be set free to kill all manner of new monsters and check out all manner of new quests. (This is, of course, assuming you're not planning onstarting a Death Knight immediately and ignoring Northrend until you get there on your DK.) With the beta closed down, we thought it would be nice to remember it via today's World of Warcraft One Shots sent in to us from Deadend -- this lovely image of the moon shining through the aurora over a foreboding, misty forest.

Were you in the Wrath of the Lich King beta? Perhaps you're just a beta fiend and have screenshots of other betas (not under NDA, please) that you'd like to share with us -- especially if you'd like to show how much the game has grown. If you've got screenshots and tales to tell, we want to hear from you! Send those to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, and a quick description. We'll post them out here for everyone else to check out.

One Shots: Hooray for matching armor

Filed under: World of Warcraft, Betas, Fantasy, Screenshots, One Shots

When Burning Crusade first came out, people at endgame started out in (generally) a pretty decently matched set of raiding or quested gear. Within a few levels, most looked like they'd been hitting Bob's Discount Armor and Party Supplies for gear. While it's not true of all quest armor that you pick up, Deadend sent in this screenshot to show that apparently Blizzard decided to go more towards a more uniform look in Wrath quest armor. Beats looking like an overblown pinata again, eh?

If you're in Wrath, if you're in regular World of Warcraft, or if you're playing another non-Blizzard MMO altogether, we'd love to see your screenshots. Just snag some and send them to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name/server/group and a quick description of what we're seeing. We'll post it out here for everyone else to enjoy and give you the credit.

One Shots: If you thought Fel Reavers were bad

Filed under: World of Warcraft, Betas, Fantasy, Screenshots, New titles, One Shots

Today we'd like to introduce you to the Northrend's bigger, badder version of the Fel Reaver, courtesy of this awesome screenshot sent in to us by Deadend, who is playing on the Northrend server in the Wrath of the Lich King beta. This great big fellow is called a Storm Giant, and you can generally find them stomping around in places like Howling Fjord. To give you a better frame of reference, WoWwiki states that if you were to put a Fel Reaver up next to a Storm Giant, the Fel Reaver would only come as high as the Storm Giant's chest. As you can imagine, this means you're likely to be toejam that much faster when you first jump into Wrath. Squish!

Are you one of the legion who are still playing World of Warcraft? Have you been exploring lots of cool things that are in the Wrath of the Lich King beta? If so, we'd love to see some of the content you've been experiencing. Just send those screenshots to us with your name/server/guild and a quick note as to what we're seeing. We'll put them up here for the rest of the world to "ooh" and "aaah" over.
