Those impish ne'er-do-wells at Penny Arcade have taken the reins and presented a comic replete with our two favorite topics: human-created abominations of nature, and Ponystars. Our admiration for the latter is obvious, but it could only take the talents of Messrs Brahe and Gabriel to perfectly evoke our passion for the former.

Will this comic make you more likely to want to try the game? Although many initially express distaste for the genre, if not outright indignance at the mere mention of its pastorally quasi-equestrian delights, once presented with the possibility of assembling a hideous hooved horror, we've seen many a neigh-sayer quickly bray out a mea culpa and get straight to their dark work.

Proving once again that some of the best MMO material out there is made by the fans, Chase Arcanum and Cinder Flame have released a comic book that showcases CoX Issue 12: Midnight Hour in all its various aspects. Assembled using a huge guest cast and a lot of hard work with screenshots, the Midnight Hour comic takes a wickedly humorous look at the newest issue to hit CoX, with special emphasis on the Midnight Squad and the Villain Epic Archetypes.

Regular readers will have encountered Chase Arcanum's acerbic humor before, when he covered the infamous wedding of Manticore and Sister Psyche in comic-book format. This latest edition, which can be accessed from the CoH main page or downloaded directly in PDF format, looks to be the most ambitious collaboration so far.

Some brand new and very awesome concept art is being shown at the Champions Online website. This is a bit different from some of the previous stuff though: you get to see the heroes and villains of CO in the way that heroes and villains are meant to be seen -- in comic form.

The characters on show are the heroes Defender and Ironclad, and villains Doctor Destroyer and Menton, and the frames of the comics depict their origins. A forum thread has been provided for any feedback on the artwork, and so far it is overwhelmingly positive. The character causing the most divided opinions is Menton, whose exposed and enlarged brain seems to leave people on both sides of the fence. For the record, we think you look fine Menton -- now please don't mess with our free will.
